PRESS RELEASE: Louise Hosking Appointed IOSH Vice President – Health and safety specialist aims to enhance the public perception of IOSH
Louise Hosking, chartered safety and health practitioner and managing director of Hosking Associates, has been appointed Vice President of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
Vice-Presidents support the work of the elected presidential team in an ambassadorial role, representing and speaking on behalf of IOSH to the media, supporting IOSH campaigns and strategic activities.
Since being involved with the IOSH Chiltern Branch, where Louise Hosking serves as chair, she has worked with volunteer colleagues to engage directly with regional membership, improve the quality of events offered and significantly increase attendance at meetings. She is also a member of the IOSH Consultancy Group Committee, which supports and provides resources for members who work as consultants.
Louise Hosking added: “I feel incredibly honoured to have been elected as an IOSH Vice-President, and I look forward to working alongside President Chris Foyle, Immediate Past President, Graham Parker, President Elect, Vincent Ho and my fellow Vice Presidents.
“In line with IOSH’s strategy, WORK 2022, and under the leadership of the President, my aims will be to enhance the public perception of occupational safety and health by demonstrating how making sound risk based choices can help modern businesses retain talent and improve efficiency.
“I am looking forward to representing IOSH and to creating future collaborations, especially in business. Running my own safety, health and advisory consultancy means I can relate to the challenges faced by small businesses every day.”
About Hosking Associates
Established in 2005, Hosking Associates focuses on health and safety and the environment. Its consultants help companies and schools create a healthy and safe environment for their workforce and anyone who comes to the premises.
The company works with organisations as the health, safety and/or environmental manager – either within organisations that prefer to outsource, or where an internal resource is not necessary.
Hosking Associates saves organisations money by helping them comply with the law. The team works in partnership with clients and doesn’t just run risk or impact assessments. Instead, they guide them through the process – giving them the tools, training and confidence to manage all aspects of health, safety and sustainability on their own.
